What is the 404 Error Token?
It's a cryptocurrency token based on the concept of HTTP 404 errors — you know, that "Page Not Found" message you see when a link is broken.
Except we made it tradeable. And possibly useful. We're still figuring that out.
Is this a joke?
Yes. And also no.
It started as a meme about embracing errors and chaos, but it's built on real smart contracts with actual tokenomics and governance.
So it's Schrödinger's Serious Project — simultaneously a meme and legitimate until you observe what gets built.
Why should I invest in an "error" token?
Listen, if you're looking for financial advice, you're in the wrong place.
But if you want to be part of an experiment where:
The community decides what gets built
Utility emerges from chaos
Memes meet actual technology
Nothing is promised but anything is possible
Then maybe you'll vibe with this.

What blockchain is 404 on?
We're still deciding. Current frontrunners:
Ethereum (classic, expensive gas)
Solana (fast, error-prone — on brand)
Base (L2, modern, meme-friendly)
Polygon (cheap, scalable)
The community will vote. Democracy is chaotic.
What's the total supply?
404,404,404 tokens.
Because if we're doing a 404 token, we're committing to the bit.
Is this a rug pull?
How do you rug pull something that has no roadmap and explicitly promises nothing?
Also:
Liquidity will be locked
Team tokens are vested
Smart contract will be audited (probably)
Community controls the treasury

The Mascot
What does the mascot look like?
That's the neat part — it doesn't.
The mascot is a system error that became visible. It has no fixed form, no face, no identity.
Sometimes it looks almost human. Sometimes it's just corrupted pixels. Sometimes it's completely absent.
It's defined by absence, not presence.
Can I draw the mascot?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it.
Every interpretation is valid because there is no correct version.
Draw it as:
Static and glitches
Missing textures
Broken 3D model
Abstract error messages
Literally nothing
All correct. That's the point.
Will the mascot ever have a fixed design?
No. Never. That would defeat the purpose.
The day we define the mascot is the day we become just another memecoin.

Where can I buy $404?

Pre-launch: You can't. Token doesn't exist yet. Very on-brand.
What's the price?
Right now? Error: Price not found.
Post-launch? Whatever the market decides.
We have no price targets. No moon math. No promises of 100x.
If it goes up: Cool. If it goes down: Also on-brand (things break). If it goes sideways: Probably the most 404 outcome.
Are there taxes on transactions?
Yes, 4.04% on buys and sells:
2% goes to liquidity
1% to development/marketing
1.04% gets burned
Transfers between wallets are tax-free because we're not complete monsters.
What's the anti-whale mechanism?
Max transaction: 4.04% of supply
Max wallet: 10% of supply
Cooldown: 404 seconds between large trades
This prevents mega-whales from dumping on the community.
(Or it might not work. It's an error token. Expect errors.)
Is the contract renounced?
Probably not initially (we need to fix bugs if they appear).
But governance can vote to renounce ownership once things are stable.

What kind of proposals can I submit?
Anything, as long as it's:
Technically feasible
Budget-appropriate
Not illegal
Somewhat aligned with the error philosophy

How much influence do whales have?
Voting is weighted by tokens held, so yes, whales have more influence.
But:
Proposals require supermajorities for big decisions (70-80%)
Community can implement quadratic voting later
Moderation can veto obviously malicious proposals
The community can fork if whales go rogue
Democracy is messy. This is intentional.

What are the risks?
Oh boy, where do we start:

Realistically? No. Too many safety mechanisms.
But again, DYOR and don't invest what you can't lose.
